Ahh… what an angel she is. She is such a beauty. She emits pure Aegyo.
All this while, all I have ever seen of her was in her music videos, live performances, variety shows(HYUNGDON, I LOVE HIM TOO) and kinda blurry fan cams. She practically lived in videos and pictures, yet I was entranced by her. We seemed to live totally different lives. I was a student, doing student-ish stuff, while she was a Korean mega super duper star of awesomeness. I would be mugging for my next test and she would be preparing hard for her next concert performance. I would be waking up everyday dreading school and she would be waking up and putting on make-up.(no offense, she looks good even without make-up) I would be taking the public bus to school and she would be taking an airplane to different parts of the world for her world tour. The difference was astronomical.
Anyways, we would always be hundreds and thousands of kilometres away from each other. Yet, I like her. I know her, she does not know me, kinda sad, but that’s the way it will always be.
THE CONCERT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING. (or at least that’s what I feel)
The date was 12 October 2013, the day started off with a slightly cloudy sky, along with a stuffy atmosphere lingering in the air. It seemed like the start of an ordinary mundane day. It totally was not, I had vegetarian bee hoon for breakfast unlike my usual butter and bread. JUST KIDDING. It was the day Girls Generation will hold their second solo concert here in sunny Singapore.(see what I did there, putting in Sunny’s name inside, hehe)
It was going to be held in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. A place where I have not been before. But enough about me, let me talk about the concert.
I arrived late. At around 6.05pm. The concert had already started, the music was booming and the lasers were shining. HELL YES, IT IS FINALLY TIME TO SEE TAEYEON LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVERRRRRR. I ran to my seat.(this is an overstatement, I was lost initially but the staff helped me)
My seat was at the balcony, somewhere high up in the stadium. I had an unobstructed view of the whole stage. I do not quite remember the first song they performed( im sorry! I was quite tired the last few days) but all I know is that they were awesome. The nine angels danced in perfect synchronisation to the fast beats of the pop songs. Taeyeon looked gorgeous. Even though I was seated at the balcony, and could not very clearly see her face, I could feel her energy and beauty! After the many popular pop songs were done, they proceeded on with some fan service! They were pushing trolleys filled with plastic hand-sized balls with their signature on it. Man! The girls had such a tight schedule and were obviously exhausted by the world tour, yet they still persevered and hand signed the balls. Thank you SNSD!
And, Taeyeon looked up to the balcony where I was seated. She waved and smiled.
At that moment, I collapsed.(That was an exaggeration, I was seated, so let’s just say I slumped on my seat) SHE ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGES MY EXISTENCE. I frantically waved back and the people seated behind me shouted, “KIM TAEYEON, SO NYUH SHI DAE, KIM TAEYEON, SO NYUH SHI DAE!” My stomach felt like there were a million butterflies fluttering around inside. My life was complete.
SNSD then continued to sing their many ballads which were pleasing to the ear, and some gave me goose bumps since they were so good.
The blissful experience continued for an hour and the concert was ending. The other members of SNSD waved back at the huge crowd and the members held hands. They bowed for a very long time, with the many fans shouting their names and shouting some Korean words that I did not understand. They left the stage and were gone in a second. Taeyeon has left.
Heh, not to sound sad and all, but I will miss her. I really hope she can grace Singapore’s shore again. She is so pretty in real life… <3
